                              Principal Appreciation Monthprincipal
October in Principal Appreciation Month and principals are critical to student and school success. They work tirelessly for Chicago's students, educators and families; Now is our chance to thank them. One easy way to do so is to sign up to receive a celebration mail toolkit!  Here are a few more ways to thank principals: Thank your principal in-person, bring your principal a token of appreciation, post a "thank you" message on social media using #PrincipalPrideChi. We hope you will join CPS, City Hall and The Chicago Public Education Fund in celebrating the 2019 Principal Appreciation Campaign. Through small acts of gratitude, we can help our school leaders feel acknowledged and thanked for their tireless dedication to students, schools and communities.
                                          ASPEN UpdateASPEN
Families, thank you for your patience with ASPEN.  We've experienced a myriad of technical issues and CPS has been working diligently with us to get it up and running.  Rest assured, we plan to have it up and running by the middle of next week so teachers can enter grades.  Progress reports will be distributed, hopefully, by Friday, Oct 18th.
                                       After School Karatekarate

Recently, the Chicago Teachers Union set a strike date for Thursday, October 17, which is the earliest possible day a strike could occur.
In the event of a work stoppage, regular classroom instruction will not occur, but CPS school buildings will be open to students. Principals and non-unionized support staff will be available to greet students and ensure they have access to engaging activities. More information about CPS's contingency plan can be found here.
